VGS Spring REC Program info

SPRING SEASON DETAILS 

• Spring Rec is for all players, new or returning, who are looking to play softball in a fun and moderately competitive and fun environment
• Spring "Select" teams are separate from Rec teams and play a parallel season meeting 1 day per week for a practice or tournament
• Registration opens at end of the Fall season (link will be posted to Homepage of this website) 
• Spring Ball practices and games will run from February through April 
• We will have teams for players of all age divisions from T-Ball/6U (combined), 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and Spirit 8U-14U teams are drafted with the goal of creating even teams 
• Buddy Requests for 8U can be sent to playeragent@vistags.org but must be sent no later than Jan 2, 2025
• We cannot accommodate Buddy Requests for 10U, 12U or 14U 
• We cannot accommodate Buddy Requests received after teams are drafted on Sat Jan 4, 2025
• There are typically 1-2 practices per week 
• 8U, 10U, 12U & 14U gamedays are 2x per week on either Wed, Fri or Sat 
• T-ball gamedays are typically 1x per week on Fri or Sat
• Spirit league meets 1x per week on Sat 

KEY SPRING 2025 SEASON DATES

• Sat, 1/4: Player skillset assessments & draft for 8U, 10U, 12U (14U & T-Ball do not need to assess)
• Week of 1/6: "Select" competitive team practices or tournaments may begin 
• Week of 2/3: Rec team practices begin 
• Sat, 2/15: Opening Day event 
• Sat, 3/15: Hit a Thon fundraiser 
• Week of 3/31: Spring break (no games and optional practices this week; there are games on Sat 3/29) 
• Sat, 4/26: Closing ceremonies / end of Spring 2025 season
