VISTA SPIRIT DIVISION RETURNS FOR SPRING SEASONS!

The VGS organization is excited to provide inclusive opportunities for all individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to foster relationships among players, volunteers, and family members. The Spirit Division provides a recreational team sport experience for both boys and girls with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Vista Girls Softball is very proud to take the initiative to include ALL kids in our softball program.

Every player in the Spirit Division is provided a “buddy” that will help and encourage each of them to learn softball skills. We take great pride in knowing that our buddy program promotes diversity, acceptance, and patience to young girls/boys in our community. Our season runs from February – April and we would LOVE to have your special needs child join us.

If you would like more information, please contact  Claire Hyde at Spirit@Vistags.org .   We look forward to hearing from you soon!

 Spring Ball Spirit League Info:

  • Registration opens in the Nov/Dec timeframe, and the season starts in Feb
  • Sponsors typically cover all costs associated with Spirit league
  • Players and families commit to one 60 minute weekend meet-up (20 minute practice + 40 minute batting, fielding, and running bases)
  • Players will be divided into two teams helping us have an “at bat” and “fielding” team
  • There are no outs, everyone gets a chance to bat, everyone fields, and we all run home
  • Buddies: we will do our best to provide all players a buddy to help with hitting/fielding, and navigating the bases
